Paramashiva – The Founder of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham

The original founder of “Shyamala Peeta Sarvajna Peetam” (world’s rarest and ancient living spiritual community) is

“Parama Shiva” – The Supreme Consciousness.

Who is Paramasiva?

Bhagavān Śrī Paramaśiva (परमशिव) is the primordial Divinity (Bhagavān) in Hinduism. Śrī Paramaśiva is the Ultimate Reality and Cause, which is self-effulgent (svayamprakāśa), All-pervading, unchanging beyond time, space, form and causality. He is Eternal (nitya), Absolute imperishable source (aparināmi avyayam) of all that is. Paramaśiva, the Pure Consciousness (caitanya) is the Cosmic Principle of Śuddhādvaita, the Pure Oneness, who out of His own Will (icchā śakti) descends with His Cosmic Power, Parāśakti, as the Subjective Cosmos, as the ‘Avatār or Incarnation’ to celebrate His existence, to protect, govern, revive and expand the Supreme Sovereignty of the worlds and its living beings, ordaining the Cosmic Constitution.

As the fundamental base of Unmanifest (avyakta) and Manifest (vyakta) existence, He performs the five cosmic acts (pañcha kritya) of – creation (śristi), Sovereign Rulership and maintenance (sthiti), rejuvenation (samhāra), delusion (trobhāva) and liberating grace (anugraha) for all living entities.

In the Hindu Source Scripture, Śri Sarvajñānottara Āgama (in the section called vidyā pāda, śivananya-sākśātkar patalaḥ), Sri Paramaśiva reveals,

mayāvyāptam idam sarvam dṛṣyādṛyaṁ carācarām | ahameva jagannatho mattassarvam pravartate || –  (meaning) All this manifest existence constituted of the Seen, manifest and the Unseen, unmanifest, of the movable and immovable existents, is pervaded by Me (Paramaśiva). I myself am the Lord of the Cosmos. Only from Me all things emerge, flourish, expand and proliferate.

Meenakshi and Sundareshwara – The Revivers of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham

Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati in their incarnations as “Lord Sundareshwara or Chokkanathar” and “Meenakshi Amman”, revived the Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham

An Avatar, incarnation is a person who directly descends, directly appears from Super Consciousness, and radiates all the satgunas, all the auspicious qualities. All incarnations appear again and again on the planet with the mission to protect the goodness and the good, to destroy the wickedness and the wicked, and to establish the science of enlightenment, the inner awakening.

Out of their causeless mercy and sheer compassion for human consciousness, incarnations happen in the human body from the formless energy to the form to only fulfill their divine purpose. Each incarnation appears to radiate and share their unique expressions of that one super consciousness energy. Every incident, every act, every step of their life is a divine play, called “leela” that gives eternal bliss to its devotees, the seekers of Truth. ‘Leela’ is the extraordinary consciousness landing in the lowest possible existence and playing.

Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham is the crest jewel of all spiritual traditions on the planet, being directly founded by the Supreme Consciousness-Parama Shiva. The Revivers – Lord Sundareshwara and Devi Parvathi   inaugurated the foundation pillars and the soaring flag of the purest, the highest vedic tradition of a living stream of spiritual sciences as Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. To ensure this pure supreme tradition continues to elevate the humanity, they enthrone their direct representatives, their divine energies in the form of continuously flowing lineage of living Masters – the Guru Maha Sannidhanams of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham.

The Holy Trinity

Thiru Jnana Sambandar, the reviver of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham, he is the child-incarnation who appeared to show and transmit by His shining living example, how to be the true child of Existence. He not only tasted the divine love of God, but shared it freely with humanity singing and glorifying the name of Shiva-Devi. His life is a resounding declaration of the power of deep ‘feeling connection’, bhakti for the divine, proving that the one who achieves the pure love of God, achieves everything. Infinite may be the negative forces of time opposing the good of human consciousness, the spiritual power radiates all the more intensely when Shiva is in one’s heart and being. Mother Meenakshi (Parvati Devi), and Lord Chokkanathar (Shiva) are the Cosmic Mother and Father of this whole Existence, always sheltering their creation and the created. The mother earth blossomed in all beauty, richness, and celebrated their rare presence on the planet.

Meenakshi Amman

The Mother of the Cosmos, “Adi Shakti” (the original source of energy), the divine consort of Lord Shiva, “Sundareshwara” appeared in her third incarnation as “Meenakshi, meaning fish eyed” from the words “mīna, meaning fish” and “akṣi meaning eyes”.

“All the grandeur of masculinity and the beauty of femininity expressed in one body that is Meenakshi. All the grandeur of the super consciousness, the masculine principle and the beauty of the feminine consciousness, the divine feminine principle expressing in one body is Meenakshi”, describes H.H Srila Sri Paramahamsa Nithyananda, 293rd pontiff of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham

Appearing from the pure sacrificial fire, homa agni, she carried a divine body unlike any other human form, and was endowed with extraordinary yogic powers, infinite qualities and energies. She is also named “Thadathagai” (warrior princess)” and “Angayarkanni.” With a regal upbringing unlike even the most valiant of princes, she was and is the Queen of the blessed Pandiyan empire headquartered at the Madurai city, the city created by the divine couple. Ruling over a long period, she flagged the Meenakshi Samrajya, the rule of Meenakshi with cosmic justice, spreading the divine empire in all directions, and flourished her citizens, her devotees using her extraordinary administrative genius. With her immaculate healing powers, and uncompromising compassion, Meenakshi Devi, the Mother of all,  blessed her children with her eternal protective lap.

Lord Sundareshwara (Chokkanathar)

The Lord of all Lords, Mahadeva, the One without a beginning or end, the one who is eternal, formless, nameless, and causeless auspiciousness incarnated as ‘Sundareshwara’, the one who is supremely beautiful.

“Sundareshwara is the embodiment of super consciousness, expressing in human body, playing in all His glory. When Lord Shiva assumed the body and married Meenakshi and ruled this Pandiya kingdom, he becomes ‘Sundara Pandya’. Sundareshwara is the energy of leela, playfulness.” – extols H H Srila Sri Paramahamsa Nithyananda, drawing out the real essence of Chokkanathar.

Lord Shiva is infinite and so are His expressions and energies. Yet, He is always considered to be like the frozen Mt. Kailasha, silently radiating bliss. The colorful expression of His energies, like the flowing, life-enriching river Ganges is never revealed. Normally the ‘Leela’ aspect of playfulness is never attributed to Shiva. No branch of Saivism, no other tradition in the Vedic religion, talks about Shiva’s Leelas’. Never ever were the Shiva leelas’ absorbed, experienced, and described so profoundly, so vividly, and visually other than in the tradition of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham, the ‘Veda Neri’.

No other geography is as sacred as Madurai, for here Lord Sundareshwara incarnated himself in not just one human body, but 11 different bodies at different times. Even in Kailasha, Shiva’s very own abode, the cosmic center of the universe, He assumed and left 1 body. In Kashi, Shiva’s city, He assumed two forms. But, in Madurai He assumed 11 incarnations to playfully, casually please, protect, and play with not just His surrendered devotees, but even other species such as pig, and birds, for no cause or reason. In that sense, Madurai is the most rarest of rare special energy field, so very close to Lord Shiva, who has a hearty connection with Madurai and its people.

An incredible journey into the plays of divine consciousness are made possible by the most enchanting recordings of the great Paranjyothi Munivar called the “Thiruvilayadal Puranam”, the 64 magnanimous Leelas of Lord Sundareshwara. These historical accounts of His playful acts are living testimony to Chokkanathar’s causeless compassion.

He assumes the body of lower frequencies, like human body, pig body, so many lower frequency bodies and expresses the super-consciousness and plays with His powers. Even today He stays in a frequency where He can immediately assume human body. He is there, He assumes human body and relates with you, answers you, responds to you, raises, you. All we need is a simple, sincere call to – ‘Sundershwara’, or ‘Chokkanathar’.

Thiru Jnana Sambandar, the Reviver of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham

More than 1500 years ago in the 7th century, Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham was revived by the famous child-incarnation, Thiru Jnanasambandar, born in the holy town of Sirkazhi (Sembai) at Chola region. He appeared as the son of God, living the path of “sat-putra-margam”.

Named by Lord Shiva Himself, “Jnanasambandar” means the one who has gained contact with the ‘Siva Jnanam’, the highest spiritual knowledge, i.e. the knowledge of Shiva.

Jnanasambandar’s bio-memory itself was never disconnected from the cosmic consciousness from birth. He, even while living in body, was widely accepted, recognized, revered, worshiped as an incarnation of Shiva Himself, Mahadeva Himself. From the ’64 leelas’, divine plays of Lord Sundareshwara, one of the divine plays, glorifies the acts of Thiru Jnanasambandar for reviving the “Saiva tradition” by winning the water and fire test from the Jain monks.

Unlike the prevalent notion that Thiru Jnanasambandar is the founder of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham, he is actually the reviver of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. When He came to Madurai, He had not found it, he revived Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. From Him the recorded history of this Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham started. Till then there was no recorded history, but Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham existed.

As an embodiment of supreme love, He radiated a state of intense ecstatic love of God i.e mahabhava – the “Feeling Connection”, the philosophy of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. He taught and transmitted to the world the sacred 5 syllables “Namah Sivaya” – ‘Na-Ma-Chi-Va-Ya”, and glory of the sacred holy ash, “Thiru Neeru”, and the greatness of the Tamil language.

Assuming the human body for only 16 years, His mission was to rid the holy land of Shiva from the persecuting, irreligious Jain tradition that had lost all its sublime spirit because of the inevitable corruption that follows after the Living Enlightened Masters leave their body.

The purpose of His divine incarnation was to revive, re-establish the pure enlightened science of vedic tradition, “Veda Neri”, which He declared as the only philosophy of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. The quintessence of the Vedic tradition is to express and radiate “devotion and gratitude” for Lord Shiva.
